Hello all,

We have not yet discussed formatting figures for the Scorecard technical
report; however, it would be great if authors would format their figures
using the following conventions:

1.	Place figures in word files, place in text near the first
reference to the figure in the text. The figure title should be written
below the graph in MS Word.
2.	Figures should be inserted as Tiff, jpeg, or ppt files.
3.	If you make tiff files, please use the "LZW compression" option
when saving the files. That will significantly reduce the file size,
without adversely affecting the image quality.

4.	All lettering should be no smaller than a 6-point font size.
(shoot for 10 pt, unless it's not manageable)

5.	use arial font

6.	Nomenclature, abbreviations, symbols, and units used in a figure
should match those used in the text and tables.

      7. *Use italics only as used in the text (e.g., variables, species
names). All Greek letters should be set upright (roman, not italic) &*
Avoid boldface lettering.

        8. Axis lines, tick marks, error bars, etc. should be thick
enough to be easily viewable

      9. use a black and white color scheme

     10. Please submit original figure files so that we can make quick
changes if necessary

      11. graphs should be on white backgrounds, with borders on all
four sides

Thanks!
